Why should we care?

  • There are no benefits to the local communities from this development.

  • The re-activation of quarrying could begin without an Environmental Impact Assessment being carried out.

  • The wildlife habitat would by destroyed and the wild life would disappear.

  • There would be loss of an extremely popular recreational area, as would an internationally renowned historical site.

  • The image of Cambusbarron, Stirling and, indeed, Scotland would be altered and the effects would be completely irreversible.

  • The large number of lorries, on already overcrowded roads, would be highly hazardous, especially as they would be travelling past 2 large schools, 2 nurseries, a private hospital, Stirling’s largest (and busiest) park, as well as residential and business areas.

  • There would be increased wear and tear on the roads, causing an increase in the Council Tax for the people of Stirling.
